Turnip 'Noir de Pardailhan' has unique black to grey skin with white interior. Its elongated roots are shaped like fat carrots. I am rather taken with its looks! Noir de Pardaihan has a milder flavor than the other turnip we sell 'Purple Top White Globe'. The mild flavor makes it posible to add to vegetable medly stir-frys without over powering the other vegetables. Noir de Pardailhan is a good candidate if you want to try turnip raw and or made into root pickles. This French heirloom can stay in the ground longer than other turnips and not bolt. This surprised me. Like other turnips, it stores well in the refrigerator for a few months.
