Tomato 'Chocolate Stripes' has large, brown-red fruits with olive-green stripes. It has a complex flavor that is sweet and earthy. It does not taste like chocolate, but it is one of the best tasting striped tomatoes.

Chocolate Stripes was bred from a cross of 'Amish' and 'Schimmeig Creg' tomato by Al Anderson of Troy, Ohio. Beefsteak type.

Sowing Tomato Seeds:

Start seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost date, 1/8 inch deep. Transplant outside 2 weeks after the last frost date. Plant tomatoes deep in the soil for a better root structure. Space 3 feet apart. Full sun.
