Squash 'Sucrine du Berry' has rustic 3 to 6 pound, pear-shaped fruits with tan skin with some green striping. They will become more tan in storage. The flesh is orange and the flavor is light and not very sweet. It is best in recipes that call for pureed squash as the texture is reminiscent of spaghetti squash. It is quite watery as well, so no need to add water to the pan when baking.
This French Heirloom is known for its good storage potential of up to 6 months! Our harvest has been in cool storage for 3 months so far with no sign of decay.
