20 seeds. 95 days. Cucurbita maxima. Annual.
Squash 'Guatemalan Blue' is a type of banana squash with dusty-blue fruits and light gray stripes. The 3 to 5-pound fruits have smooth, golden yellow flesh. There will be about 2 fruits per plant. I find the vines to be rather tame compaired to other squash. It is a good keeper that will store until spring of the next year. Our crop kept in dry conditions up to 6 months. An heirloom from Guatemala.
Sowing Squash Seeds:
Sow seeds in hills 1 inch deep after the last frost date. Space hills 4–6 feet apart. Thinned to 2 plants per hill. Full sun.
