30 seeds. 65 days. Cucurbita pepo. Annual.

Squash 'Kamo Kamo' is one of our new favorite zucchini. It has a firm texture and true nut-like flavor that you rarely find in squash. My father liked to grill the round slices to eat on burgers. It is an heirloom from the Maori people of New Zealand. Also known as Kumi Kumi.

Kamo Kamo has long vigorus vines, so give it pleanty of space to roam. The mature squash make pretty table decorations, but are not suitable for eating. To harvest the seeds hit the mature squash with a mallet to break it open. The skin is too hard to cut with a knife.

Sowing Squash Seeds:

Sow seeds in hills 1 inch deep after the last frost date.  Space hills 4–6 feet apart. Thinned to 2 plants per hill. Full sun.
