True Black Brandywine has medium-sized fruits that weigh 6-14 ounces. It has an earthy flavor. Introduced in the 1920s and bred by Dr. Harold E. Martin of Westtown, Pennsylvania from a cross of Brandywine and Freejee.
Sowing Tomato Seeds:
Start seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost date, 1/8 inch deep. Transplant outside 2 weeks after the last frost date. Plant tomatoes deep in the soil for a better root structure. Space 3 feet apart. Full sun.
