Basil 'Sasklavi'

40 seeds. 60-70 days. Ocimum basilicum. Annual.

Basil 'Sasklavi' is an incredibly fragrant basil with pale pink flowers. This Georgian basil has a floral fragrance and flavor. It keeps its flavor when dried unlike many other basils.

I enjoyed munching on Sasklavi whenever I passed it in the garden, but I am honestly not quite sure how to cook with it. I have read that it is used in a Georgian spice blend called khmeli suneli which I look forward to making with my dried basil.

Height 20 inches. Spacing 10 inches.

Sowing Basil Seeds

Sow basil indoors 6 weeks before the last frost date, 1/8 inch deep. Transplant 2 weeks after the last frost date. Full sun.
