German Chamomile 'Zloty Lan' is a different from the more common German chamomile because it is botanically a tetraploid. It also has slightly larger flowers than German chamomile. This open-pollinated variety from Poland was bred to have high yields of essential oil content.
 
The flowers of chamomile are used to make tea. Steep it for a few minutes for a relaxing tea. Steeping chamomile for longer brings out compounds that make it more stimulating for some people. Chamomile is easy to grow, drought tolerant and deer resistant. Also known as Matricaria chamomilla.
