Dill leaves are often used in fish, soup, and egg dishes. The dried leaves, called dill weed, are essential in making good ranch dressing. Our family's ranch dressing recipe contains sour cream, dill weed, celery salt, red pepper and onion power. Dill seeds and the seed heads are used in pickles.
