Dill 'Mammoth'

600 seeds. 40-60 days. Anethum graveolens. Annual.

Bring the mammoth back from extinction with this large variety of dill. Dill 'Mammoth' is an old variety also known as Mammoth Long Island. The yellow umbel flowers are very attractive to beneficial insects.

Dill leaves are often used in fish, soup, and egg dishes. The dried leaves, called dill weed, are essential in making good ranch dressing. Our family's ranch dressing recipe contains sour cream, dill weed, celery salt, red pepper and onion power. Dill seeds and the seed heads are used in pickles.

Height 3 feet.

Sowing Dill Seeds:

Sow seeds in spring after the last frost date and barely cover the seeds. Thin the plants to 4 to 6 inches apart. Full sun.
