2,000 seeds. Campanula rapunculus. Bellflower. Perennial.
Campanula rapunculus has soft purple bell-shaped flowers its second year. It is a short perennial and is very nice along the garden border.
The white taproot is edible and has a mild radish flavor which may be harvested in the Fall. Although, Rapunzel takes so long to grow these roots that I don't think they are worth eating. It is no wonder that the witch in the fairy tale was so mad when the husband stole some rapunzel for his pregnant wife! Also known as Rampion.
