Bean 'Purple Podded Pole' has beautiful 5 to 7-inch pods with a deep purple blush. They are tender and stringless when young. The flowers are also purple. Henry Field introduced this heirloom bean from the Ozark mountains in in the 1930s.
 
Sowing Pole Bean Seeds:
 
Sow beans outdoors 2 weeks after the last frost date under a trellis. Sow 1 inch deep and 3 inches apart. Full sun.
