25 seeds. 90 days. Solanum lycopersicum. Indeterminate.

'Black Icicle' is a paste tomato with deep burgundy coloring and thick walls. The shape of the 3-inch long fruits makes it easy to cut off the top for processing. It is very productive but also late to ripen, making it less than ideal for short-season gardeners. This Ukrainian heirloom was introduced by Baker Creek.

Sowing Tomato Seeds:

Start seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost date, 1/8 inch deep. Transplant outside 2 weeks after the last frost date. Plant tomatoes deep in the soil for a better root structure. Space 3 feet apart. Full sun.
