Swiss chard 'Rainbow' is perfect for when you want to have all the colors of ribs in your chard. This open-pollinated mix inclues dark red, white, yellow, and pink stemmed chard. Swiss Chard is a stapple in our summer garden and can overwinter with a little protection in zone 6.
Steam chard leaves, add a pat of butter, and sprinkle with lemon juice to enjoy. It can also be added to soup at the end of the cooking time. Swiss chard is from the Mediterranean region.
Sowing Swiss Chard Seeds:
Sow seeds outdoors a week after the last frost date. Sow 1/2 inch deep and 6 inches apart. Space rows 18 inches apart. Full sun to part shade.
