250 seeds. 50 Days. Spinacia oleracea. Annual.
Spinach 'Giant Noble' is the most aristocratic of all spinach varieties. It has large dark green leaves that are great fresh or frozen. This heirloom was developed in the Netherlands in 1926 by Zwaan and Van der Molen. 1933 All-America Selection winner.
In the spring of 2023, I grew three spinach varieties: Viroflay, Giant Noble and Bloomsdale Long Standing. Giant Noble was the last to bolt when the temperature rose over 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
Sowing Spinach Seeds:
Sow seeds outdoors 1/4 inch deep and 2 inches appart in early spring as soon as the soil thaws. Or sow spinach seeds in late summer. Thin the seedlings to 8 inches apart. Space rows 16 inches apart. Spinach seeds are dormate in temperatures above 80 degrees fahrenheit. Full sun to part shade.
