Perpetual Spinach is a summer green with spinach-like flavor that is related to chard. This Italian vegetable is great for when you desire cooked spinach in the summer. It is resilient against summer heat and very productive. Also known as Erbette. Open-pollinated.
Sowing Perpetual Spinach Seeds:
Sow seeds outdoors a week after the last frost date. Sow 1/2 inch deep and 6 inches apart. Space rows 18 inches apart. Full sun to part shade.

I really like the tender leaves and mild flavor. It grew well in my Utah desert garden. Regular spinach doesn't last long in our hot summer weather, but Swiss Chard Perpetual Spinach keeps going until fall.
