Pepper 'Jalapeno M'

50 Seeds. 75 Days. Capsicum annuum. Tender perennial.

Pepper 'Jalapeno M' is a classic jalapeno that is 3–4 inches long and just hot enough for you to need some water to drink. We were surprised how productive it was in our northern Utah climate. Open-pollinated.

We used our harvest to make jalapeno pepper poppers. Cut the jalapenos in half and core. Stuffed the peppers with cream cheese, cheese, and bacon bits. Roast in the oven. Just make sure the peppers have enough space on the baking pan so they roast rather than steam.

Height 30 inches.

Sowing Peppers Seeds:

Sow seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost date, 1/4 inch deep. Transplant the peppers 2 weeks after the last frost date or when there is no hint of frost. Space 15 inches apart. Full sun.
