Melon 'Minnesota Midget'

50 Seeds. 75 Days. Cucumis melo. Annual.

Melon 'Minnesota Midget' has over 1-pound fruits that are perfect for two servings. The flesh of the fruits are orange and you can tell when they are ripe by the fragrant melon scent. This is my sister's favorite.

This 1948 American heirloom is early-maturing and good for gardeners with shorter growing seasons. The vines grow to about 4 feet long and may be trellised.

Sowing Melon Seeds:

Sow seeds outdoor after the last frost date, 1/2 inch deep. Sow in hill spaced 6 feet apart and thin to 3 plants per hill. Alternatively, sow in rows spaced two feet apart. Full sun.
