Kale 'Dazzling Blue'

150 seeds. 60 days. Brassica oleracea. Biennial.

Kale 'Dazzling Blue' is a lacinato type of kale with beautiful blue-green leaves and pink ribs. It looks very ornamental in the garden. This open-pollinated kale was bred by Hank Keogh of Avoca Seed.

One year we let a few of these kale plants overwinter in our zone 6 garden and go to seed the next year. After the seed heads dried up, the giant plants produced an overwhelming amount of kale that fall.

Height 15–20 inches. Spacing 12 inches.

Sowing Kale Seeds:

Sow seeds outdoors 2–4 weeks before the last frost date to summer. Sow 1/4 inch deep. Full sun to part shade.
