Cucumber 'Lemon' is one of our favorite cucumbers for fresh eating as it is not bitter. As the cucumber ripens it turns a dark yellow, but we recommend picking cucumber at 4 inches and light green for the best taste. This 1894 American heirloom is not suited for making pickles due to its soft texture. It is vigorous and very productive. 
 
Sowing Cucumber Seeds: 
 
Sow seeds outdoors after the last frost date, 1/2 inch deep. Or start indoors 3 weeks before the last frost date. Sow in hills 4–6 feet apart or in rows 2 feet apart. Thin to 3 plants per hill. Full sun.
