Pepper 'Poblano' is known as 'Ancho' when it is ripened to red and dried. In its earlier green stage, it can be roasted, stuffed and used in chili. In the dried form, it can be used as hot chili flakes. This Mexican heirloom grows 4-inch fruits that are fairly spicy at 1,000 to 1,500 units on the Scoville scale.
Sowing Peppers Seeds:
Sow seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost date, 1/4 inch deep. Transplant the peppers 2 weeks after the last frost date or when there is no hint of frost. Space 15 inches apart. Full sun.
