215 seeds. Celosia argentea var. spicata. Annual.
Celosia 'Sokoyokoto' has dark pink spikes of flowers on tall 5 foot plants. I think the flowers have a lot of potential for dried flower arrangements as they keep their color fairly well when dried. Some plants may require support to stay upright.
Sokoyokoto celosia is also known as Lagos Spinach. The leaves are edible when cooked like amaranth. The best leaves for eating are picked before the plant flowers. This green is popular in Nigeria.
Height 4 to 5 feet. Spacing 12 inches.
Sowing Celosia argentea var. spicata SeedsStart celosia seeds indoors 6 weeks before the last frost date. Or sow outdoors after the last frost date. Sow on the surface, pressing the seeds into the soil. Thin or transplant to 12 inches apart. Full sun.
