Cucumber 'Poona Kheera' is an Indian variety with light green fruits. The flavor is mild, and it's best for eating fresh. Sometimes you get a bitter fruit in a bunch. The fully mature fruits turn brown with artistic crackling skin. At this point, they are best for seeds and not eating.
Sowing Cucumber Seeds:
Sow seeds outdoors after the last frost date, 1/2 inch deep. Or start indoors 3 weeks before the last frost date. Sow in hills 4–6 feet apart or in rows 2 feet apart. Thin to 3 plants per hill. Full sun.
