Aquilegia 'Dorthy Rose' has rose-pink and white, double flowers. The flowers remind me of old-fashioned dresses with fluffy petticoats. The bushy plants are vigorous with beautiful, blue-green follage.

 

Columbine 'Dorothy Rose' was introduced in 1999 by Chelsea Gardens. Self sows. Hardy to zones 3–9.

 

Height 26 inches. Spacing 12 inches.

 

Sowing Aquilegia seeds:

 

Start aquilegia seeds indoors in late winter. Barely cover the seeds with soil. Then refrigerate for 3 weeks. Full sun to part shade.
